Monthly Finance Updates

Monthly Finance Update #40, 41 and 42

August, September, and October Update, 2022.

3-month – Overview

Total income after tax:              68.000 dkk           9.123 €

Total invested amount:                33.640 dkk          4500 €

Total savings rate:         49,4 %

Total invested in indexes:         384.546 dkk     51.593 €

Income:

My income has been quite low the last 3 months as the focus has been on the new large change of plans.

My main focus now is to increase this substatially over the next few months.

The goal is +50,000 monthly in 3-6 months.

This tiny house gives me a great opportunity to decrease monthly costs so the biggest impact for me is definitely increasing in income as it is ultra ultra-low at the moment.

Top priority. Even so quite, great to see a high savings rate despite low income!

Investments:

The previous 3-months have resulted in a portfolio decrease of -7,09% equalling around -30.822 dkk, 4135€.

The previous 3 months have been quite red, as everyone probably has noticed.

(Unfortunately, I forgot to take a 3-month screenshot on the 1st of Nov but here’s the last 3 months from the 19th Nov.).

The last 3 months individually have seen a change of -1,9% (August), -6,41% (September), and +3,53% (October).

And also interesting to see the total change for 2022. Minus 13.87%! (picture below)

Time to panic?

Nowhere near. Time to buy.

I’m continuing to buy every month consistently with what I find a reasonable amount considering the ‘new’ plan that has happened this year.

Tiny House progress

New location, new life!

We are slowly starting to get used to the new location and having to work out what is nearby, who we have nearest, and of course what isn’t nearby.

As a whole, we are very glad we’ve moved away from a previous location as we could get out of a quite toxic work relationship.

It feels great when you have the courage to put yourself first and take care of your well-being.

The correct choice for us.

We have big plans for the next many years and this is motivating to say the least. Any work we put on this plot of land will be ours in 30 years’ time also.

Land

Being a landowner also means getting used to different costs!

There are now new monthly costs that we didn’t have before that we have to get used to but all in all it’s manageable.

And it’ll be interesting to see the total cost of a year when also taking into account the house hacking element (which I’ll explain in a later post).

And at the same time owning a plot of land means having the freedom and enjoyment of being able to do whatever you want on your land.

What a feeling!

No comment from apartment owners when renting or close neighbors that are looking over your hedge that have an opinion or would like to have a say in what we should do.

A great sense of freedom and peace.

Whether that means planting a plant exactly where you want to or collecting mushrooms fruit, and berries during autumn from your own garden is amazing.

And exactly what we were hoping for with this new change of plans!

Heating

Winter is coming and heating prices are soaring upwards but luckily the tiny house is small and only requires a little firewood to heat up.

Temperature is down to 3 / 4° during the day so the next few months are going to be chilly.

Thankful for having installed the fireplace 100% now and it really effectively can heat up the house in no time.

  • Updates on the tiny house build from start to finish will be shared on the Facebook page.
