About

Welcome to Thriving Willow!

My name is Peter, 30 years old from Denmark and have a goal of building and living in a Tiny House creating a standard of living that in time will exponentially grow towards a simple, meaningful and balanced life.

The added bonus of a simple lifestyle is having the opportunity of becoming financially free on the way!

Short version:

Is there one thing you love to do every day as your work?

I have worked in Denmark 7 months a year (the warm ones!) working as a kitesurfing instructor.
One of my dream jobs at the time!

I’m now teaching students in outdoor activities such as climbing, kayaking, teambuilding, and much more.

Getting people to feel safe in the big outdoors and teaching students how to control the sometimes furious weather conditions!

This job is far from the highest-paying job but this is an activity that doesn’t feel like you are at work.

Great bonus

I now work with green and sustainable companies helping them grow with social media marketing from my computer!

Thriving Willow is here to show you that you can follow the ‘non-traditional’- desk job and simple lifestyle and still achieve financial independence with a focused plan and commitment.

I’m married, living in the western part of Denmark, and working on finding a combination of jobs that is steady and somewhat flexible at the same time.

We’ll see how this goes. Fingers crossed!

Tiny House

Living simply with less stuff, and reducing materialism and consumerism have appealed to me in the last few years.

Being of the age where most people buy their first house and starting their large 20/30 year mortgage hasn’t been very exciting and definitely something I haven’t been looking forward to in any way.

Finding a way to live on a plot of land without having to get a huge mortgage has sparked an interest in the tiny house movement which is a movement only just catching on in Denmark.

The building regulations and rules are really strict and tricky to comply with in  Denmark.

Hopefully, this will change sometime soon and we find a way to make it possible. We started our build back in November 2019!

We now live in this self-built tiny house on wheels!

Financial Independence

My thoughts on reaching financial independence aren’t focused on not having to work as the final goal.

On the contrary, I love working. And I definitely will continue to work after reaching this goal.

The appeal comes from the fact of having the freedom to spend your time on whatever project or work you find meaningful.

Building tiny homes for the homeless, volunteering in a non-profit secondhand store, or teaching people to live more sustainably and below their means.

What freedom that could be!

Thriving Willow is here to show you, that reaching financial independence by living below your means in a tiny house and following the dream job on the way, is possible!

Budgets, plans, and guides are fully transparent and simple to help you take a look at your own life and make sure you’re moving in the direction you personally wish to go!

You may already be on the perfect path. Who knows, you make a change or two.

Join us and others on your journey.

Feel interested in following your one passion and being able to do this full time and still becoming financially free
