Investments:

What was the change in the portfolio in the last 4-months?

A decrease of -5,13% equalling a change of around 16.500 dkk, 2216€.

Very volatile past few months dropping to quite a low in start July!

Luckily slowing coming back to reasonable levels again.

Ups and downs every month. Part of the journey.

May be heading into some more fluctuating times in the market in the next 6 months. Embrace!

But I’m glad to not be affected by any of the news titles, double-digit portfolio drops or guru’s predictions devasting long bear market runs.

Not a flinch which means my portfolio has the right risk level plus I may have toughened up over the last few years, lovely!

Interesting to see I’ve invested 30.000 dkk 4029€ into indexes (another 20.000 of the 50.932 dkk more in 10 days) but the total index value of the portfolio has decreased as shown on the graph.

Have I lost the value?

In a way – but it also means I’ve bought the indexes at a discount over the last 4 months which will be great in 10+ years’ time.

New plan, new times.

I bought a freakin house.

Wait what?

What about the Tiny House?

All part of the plan.

Moving around the last 2,5 years has been great, cheap and given masses of freedom, BUT experiencing and trying this out for a while in different spots gave the unforeseen feeling of not having a base and creating a lack of motivation to do anything with the surroundings around the house.

If you’re not sure whether you’re gonna be there next year then why start planting trees, plants and making the surroundings nicer?

Not everyone has an interest in gardening and designing in cultivating the natural processes in nature.

But for my wife and I, it’s what we would love to do every day, especially in the cool summer evenings from 19-22.

And spending a weekend moving plants, cutting hedges back and enjoying colourful flowers during the season we really enjoy.

Being very interested in having a garden and building up a permaculture forest garden over the next decade, two decades, three decades(!) my wife and I could see that moving from place to place would never give us the option of starting this dream of ours.

We had to think of a solution that could include the tiny house and a forest garden.

So what’s the plan now?

We bought a plot of land 16.000 m² with a house that we’re going to rent out during the summer.

More on this to come but we’re going to be doing a form of house hacking while living in the tiny house.

Is this different from being self-sufficient in the tiny house?

Yes, indeed but it is necessary if we’re going to work towards a dream of building Denmarks’ best permaculture forest garden over the next 30 years.

I called it here. Denmarks the best permaculture garden. Just you wait and see!

Rental income from the house will hopefully pay for most of the costs while we continue to invest toward a form of FIRE.

There has been no update for 4 months as it’s been jam-packed with a move of the tiny house, getting keys to the new place, renovating the whole house (still way more to go) and also having expenses in every direction making it quite tricky to do a monthly update.

Actually way easier doing it as an overview like this.

Thanks for reading and following my journey!

A lot of change in the past 3 years – Let’s see if the next 3 are just as eventful!

Monthly updates from here on as things are normalising a little.

p.s got a new job as a paid social specialist at a content bureau 15 hours a week. Quite interesting and of course increased my monthly income also. More to invest! 😀
