Monthly Finance Updates

Monthly Finance Update #5

September’s update is ready with a savings rate of 56%.

As always showing these financial numbers and progress with full transparency has the goal to give you guidance and reference to compare and hopefully learn a thing or two from.

Keeping myself accountable is an added bonus and on helps me follow the path to financial freedom

A special thanks to fellow Danish FIRE-blogger Frinans for inspiration and guidance creating this visual presentation of my progress.

What has happened this month?

A new category ‘Portfolio change in %’ has now been added to the monthly updates.

While I still have leftover shares in individual companies in my portfolio the volatility in percent will be a little higher than the actual index fluctuations.

And therefore are a little off.
As soon as I sell these stocks and only have the indexes remaining this will be more exact.

Index investments were purchased automatically with the amount of 2.500 dkk 335€ reaching a total of 37.868 dkk 3350€.

Slow and steady wins the race.

The month of September has also been a great month of work!

There has almost been wind all weeks and enough team building events to fill out the days otherwise days off.

I’m enjoying the combination and variation between the two; teaching boardsport and rocking some teambuilding events.

Rough conditions at work a few times this month. 14-15m/s and heavy rain incoming!

We have also settled nicely in our apartment in Christianshavn, Copenhagen where pretty much everything is close by.

This means rent is now added to the budget which is amazing value for the location and apartment.

Near to the Copenhagen Botanical Gardens!

Tiny House Update

Savings for Tiny House increased again by 2500 dkk (335 €); the same amount by Mrs. Willow.

This automated transfer makes putting money aside feel quite easy and the savings are steadily increasing significantly.

Tiny House savings account increasing

We are still budgeting 500.000 dkk ( 66800 € ) for the tiny house, a plot of land and transportation.

This may be way over the top, may not.

But for this amount, we should definitely be in a good position.

The plan is still to start the build in November 2019.

November is coming along fast, isn’t it?

We are getting more nervous and excited at the same time!

The plan is to build with a community that has offered to solicit expertise, tools, contacts and an area to build at a very reasonable monthly charge.

As a couple, not having any building experience this appeals very much to us and this is therefore what the plans are working towards at the moment.

We will still be building by ourselves but with fellow builders within our reach.

Updates on the build from start to finish will be shared on the facebook page.

The build is going to be a challenge and these experiences will also be shared, together with the financial aspects.

Feel free to take a look. I’d love for you to join along.

Focus next month

Next month is all about getting the plans and schedule ready for the build.

This is the last full month before beginning the build and we have many aspects we have to discuss and come to a decision on.

The start of October is also an important weekend as we are visiting an eco-village with the thought of maybe moving there in the future with the tiny house
This eco-village is a community with 12 plots of land where alternative living has been approved in some sense by the district.

Amazing progress for a country like Denmark with very strict rules on this area.
Visiting and understanding the regulations in the area before build start would, therefore, be a very wise move, we think!

Thanks for the read. Appreciate it.

Is there any information you would love to know a little about on these monthly updates?
